Well, that title is a misnomer. I don't really have time to talk about my first day of class at the university, in just a minute I need to leave to meet the person who's giving me a ride to Ultimate practice! I am really excited, and more than a little nervous.
But I just had to write down the dinner Noelle cooked tonight, it was soo good. It was a full plate of lapin (rabbit, my piece was a thigh) with polenta covered in a delicious stew of onions, tomatoes, carrots, and cranberries, I know, the last one seems kind of odd. But the stew had clearly been cooking all day, because the flavor of all of the vegetables was seemlessly melded together. The cranberries added a sweetness, and I think there was cinnamon too. When I sat down to eat I was a little put off by the polenta (the rest of which was in a bowl on the table). Under the stew it looked like mashed potatoes, but in the bowl the color was too vibrant to be any real potato. But after Noelle told me it was polenta, it made much more sense. Anyway, I thought I'd share my latest culinary adventure. Now, to play some Ultimate!
